Gamer TV Spot

Here below a first TV clip of Gamer:

I guess Ludacris's role in the movie Gamer isn't really significant (more like a cameo) but they overemphasize his role in this TV spot to promote the film.

In Gamer the real star is Gerard Butler who plays the role of Cable.

Gamer International Trailer

The more footage of Gamer is shown by Lionsgate the more I want to see the movie. Especially with the latest international trailer of Gamer which gives a much better look at what to expect in the film:

GAMER

In the future a new form of entertainment will be unleashed!

This Fall

Some live to play others play to live

with Gerard Butler

The core premise of Gamer is nothing really new: take a few inmates and pit them against one each other, from Gladiator to the latest remake of Death Race, we got plenty of movies like this. But I feel like there is something more in Gamer. Looks like there is more depth in the plot of Gamer, real issues about freedom and technology are raised. And the whole thing is still balanced with lot of action. I think that the movie Gamer will become cult.

Gamer Movie Remix Trailer

Gamer Movie TrailerA remix Gamer trailer created by San Francisco's Mike Relm:

I thought the previous movie trailer of Gamer was great, but this hyperboosted trailer is so much more explosive. Relm did a great job: no wonder Lionsgate is promoting it.

Gamer Leaked Trailer

The movie GAME is starring Gerard Butler. In a near future Massive Multiplayer Online Playing Game have been brought to the next level: players are now controlling real humans in the real world! That's the premise of Gamer (previously titled Game then Citizen Game), an upcoming sci-fi action thriller movie written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (the two geniuses behind Crank). Gerard Butler has got the lead role as an unwilling participant in an online game in which participants can control human beings as players. Also starring in the movie: Logan Lerman, Milo Ventimiglia (the guy from Heroes), Aaron Yoo, Ludacris, Alison Lohman and John Leguizamo. The movie Gamer is expected to be released on September 4, 2009.

A bootleg trailer of Gamer has leaked online:

GAMER MOVIE

Plot:
"Set in the near-future, mind-control technology has taken society by storm and a multiplayer on-line game called 'Slayers' allows humans control other humans in mass-scale. Simon controls Kable (Gerard Butler) the on-line champion of the game, and with his every move tracked by millions, his ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game's mastermind (Hall) through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him."

Cast:
- Gerard Butler as Kable, the highest-ranked warrior in the game "Slayers"
- Logan Lerman as Simon, who controls Kable
- Milo Ventimiglia as Rick Rape, described as "Moonraker, silver grill, with a latex outfit making him look like a bumblebee
- Aaron Yoo as Humanez Dude
- Ludacris
- Alison Lohman as Trace
- Kyra Sedgwick as Gina Parker Smith
- Michael C. Hall as Ken Castle
- John Leguizamo as Freek
- Johnny Whitworth as Scotch
- Zoe Bell as Sandra
- Amber Valletta as Angie

This looks like a hell of action! The movie Gamer I bet will appeal not only to player hordes but also to a larger public. The central theme of Gamer raises issues that we must not wait to debate because we are likely to deal with them in a near future: the pace of technology progress is such that the mind-control gizmo from Gamer isn't so farfetched....
